Fixed SÖLDNER Demo [Apr 06, 2004, 2:18 pm ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
As noted on Planet Soldner, the
multiplayer SÖLDNER: Secret Wars demo released earlier was 4F (thanks Tiscali Games).
Word on how to tell the proper version from the corrupt on is: "Make sure the
filename is soldnerbeta_demo.exe (Filesize: 224,141,974), this is the updated
file. The old, corrupt file is called soldnerbetademo.exe." The updated version
of the demo that has been confirmed as working can be found on
3D Gamers,
ActionTrip,
Computer Games Online,
FilePlanet
(registration required),
Filerush (torrent),
FileShack (registration required),
Gamer's
Hell, and
Worthplaying.
I'm still downloading the sucker, but I can't wait to play it.
From reading the posts here, I'd say this demo needs three things: some bug squashing (yup, just some! Not everyone has problems.), a month or two for polish and some patience on the part of the people playing it. It just seems to me that some are trying to play this game like UT or Quake. Then again, I'm still downloading this
As for usenet...I'm connected to Surfnet through my uni: ultrafast connection :), but no running my own servers and no usenet
I'm guessing more people have that kind of problem...
