Thanks - didn't see any press on that, so didn't know.

not ALL solders were part of the nazi party, please get it straight, do some research. the wermacht (Army) were not nazis.

If they have a swatiska and are on my computer screen, they die. If they are near buildings with flags that have swatiskas on them. They die. If they have grey uniforms on and carry an MP40, they die. I like my Nazis of the b-movie variety. In other words vile, sinister, and talking bad German-English. Whether they swore an oath of allegiance to the Nazi party or not is irrelevant.

they need to make a shooter from the German soldier point of view and set it in 1940 France so we can blow away some cowardly ass frog soldiers as they book ass from the front line

Not joining the party was pretty much a direct result of his death (read up on that, its interesting).

Yeah, it's probably safe to say that death prevented him from joining the Nazi party.

(sorry, maybe I'm just reading that wrong but I thought it was funny)

while your statements are very true, still need to chill out dude.

it was just an innocent generalization, no need to thump the history books.

not ALL solders were part of the nazi party, please get it straight, do some research. the wermacht (Army) were not nazis. special divisions were created 'militarize' the nazi party, giving them the waffen ss, etc. Although the wermacht did take orders from the riechstag, it did not make them nazis, they had no part in the 'ethnic cleansing' of the jews, the ss and gestapo did that. One of the reason Rommel was so respected was because opted NOT to become a memebr of the nazi party, not just because he was a brilliant stratagist. Not joining the party was pretty much a direct result of his death (read up on that, its interesting). sorry to ramble on here, i dont post this in defense of the ww2 era germany, but i just want to get some facts straight.

Uhh.. Call of Duty was a WWII shooter. German soldiers, despite what they REALLY thought, were part of the Nazi army.

It recently won of the top AIAS awards and got a BAFTA award, but that's only two of them. D.I.C.E. also awarded it Computer First-Person Action Game of the Year, Computer Game of the Year and Overall Game of the Year. But that's only a few - it's actually gotten over 70 GotY awards (so that's including not just North America).

Yeah I wondered if they were going to actually make them authentic and historically accurate in this respect.

My guess is probably because the game was not afraid to show blood and the swastica.

I know this title gets hashed a lot, but what mag(s)/site(s) gave CoD the GotY honours?

It's sure taken them long enough to 'officially' announce these figures - I saw photos of them on a toy fair website about 3-4 months ago...
