My buddy and I have been hardcore UT and BF players for quite a while. Ever since we imported Trackmania a few months ago, our UT and BF time has been reduced. While we don't necessarily have time for UT2004 or BF:V every day, we always make time for Trackmania -- every single day.

I cannot stress enough how clever, addictive, attractive, and fun this game is. Additionally, the game is stable enough that I have never *needed* to patch it, though the patches (especially 1.2) add features and content to the game.

I tried the demo and thought it was sort of beta'ish, but if it's more polished now this should be a hella cool game.

I've been playing with the v1.2.5 (RC3) patch for a while now and I must say it is very close to final v1.2 state. Each day I'm more impressed about the add-on. It brings even more richness to the tracks with all the different blocks and other stuff and also, the mappers love it very much. Can't wait to race the Team League playoffs with v1.2 tracks

I've been playing this widowmaker of a game non-stop ever since the beta demo, which was released in October 2003, and all the other games have been getting less and less of my time. Let's see if Far Cry can break the spell =)

TrackMania has already been a great, great success and with the worldwide retail release (finally) in May the future certainly looks bright for TM.

1.2 adds tunnels, warning (and other) signs and cliff-track blocks, gets rid of the shop and allows you to spend your total coppers in any type in each of the maps as you go, improves the menus and graphics (the maps edges are now surrounded by hills / scenery rather than flat land).
Having had a greater chance to play Beta 3, I think there's some new graphics problems/bugs, because it plays much better on my laptop now, but also occasionally locks up.

It's getting much more polished, and other than the occasional problem with the beta version, I really like 1.2

I saw the 1.2 beta the other day but I couldn't find a changelog - what's new?

A gem of a game, nice originality in a genre of clones and sequels.

Trackmania is a real gem, and the 1.2 patch really puts more icing on the cake. *definately* worth a look, although they could perhaps do with releasing a 1.2 demo if they haven't already.
