Far Cry Patch Plans

On the eve of the availability of Crytek's first-person shooter, there's news of plans for the first Far Cry patch on GameSpot (thanks Ant). According to the report: "The patch will be released this Thursday, and it will resolve compatibility issues between the US and Canada, as well as repair multiplayer damage issues. Ubisoft will release an online tutorial for Far Cry's Sandbox editor tomorrow, in addition to a quick-save patch in mid-April."

I challenge you to find 10 people who identify themselves with their continent before their country. (I'd say 1 person, but there are some weirdos out there

Europeans, Australians, South Americans.

Your ignorance to the horrors and atrocities committed by the US - in the name of freedom and anti-communism - to all of the countries I listed, and more, make every comment you write with respect to America's place in the world completely moot.
I didn't say they killed them for fun, I said those killings were murder, and cited videos of American and English troops cheering wildly, a la football game, as they slaugthered hapless Iraqis. Killing for fun? Not my idea, but your army's. God, your memory doesn't even work.

I'm not quite sure what your list is supposed to denote. Like most of your "facts", the list makes very little sense.

I remember you. You're the idiot who thinks US soldiers kill women and children for fun.

'Nough said. You aren't worth the time it took to type this. You are one ignorant bastard.

Name some major problems facing our world which are not caused by American foreign policy, or American Corporations.

Inkswitch, we have gotten into this argument before, and aside from "America rulez, STFU" I have demonstrated conclusively you have no intellect to speak of, whatsoever.

Learn some history fucko, I owe my freedom to Canada, and moreover, to the fact I am a human born to the planet Earth. America will keep me free?
Free like Iraq?
Free like Iran?
Free like Haiti?
Free like Columbia?
Free like Cuba?
Free like Vietnam?
Free like Laos?
Free like Cambodia?
Free like El Salvador?
Free like Chile?
Free like Russia?
Free like Afghanistan?
Free like Israel?
Free like Bolivia?
Free like Burma?
Free like Indonesia?
Free like Lybia?
Free like Panama?
Free like Ghana?
Free like Nicaragua?
Free like Guatemala?
Free like Guantanamo?
Free like Sudan?

All of these places have felt the generosity, protection and democracy fuelled compassion of the United States, and thanks to the US, citizens of those countries enjoy some of the most horrific human rights abuse, worst environmental conditions, and highest rates of modern slavery in the entire world. Who on Earth, in your obviously brilliant opinion, is poised to ivade Canada, and take away our freedoms without the "protection" of the US? Saddam? Osama? Ghadafi? Terrorists?

Keep towin that party line.. the companies will be very pleased.

Yeah... it is a major failing of our medical system to deny us unnecessary surgery and medical procedures. The worst case of a "failing" of the Canadian medical system is when the richest man in Alberta broke his knee, and the Canadian hospital told him he'd have to wait 10 hours for surgery. He flew to the states. oooo big fucking failure. Those clinics are used by one demographic, you fucking dolt, and that is the ultra fucking rich - which, like in America, makes up 1% of your god damn population. The rest of us "suffer" having to endure almost a day (oh no, a whole day!) for treatment of a condition which would have us dead one hundred years ago.

If you live in an oppressive, dictator-controlled, human-rights abusing, genocide commiting government, you owe it to America. Period. Moron.

America is responsible for every problem in the world?

Dumbshit. You can only say things like that because we are down here protecting your socialist asses. Keep riding our coat tails and STFU.

As to Canadian healthcare....... 1000 medical clinics strewn across the Canadian border serving Canadians speaks volumes. I happily provide services to these clinics and I can attest to the fact that plenty of Canadians prefer Amarican healthcare. WE choose what services and procedures we want. Not some government entity that checks it's tables every time somebody wants medical care. Try getting a procedure that your government doesn't think you need. Then you will see the failings of the system.

Getting real tired of America bashing. If you are in a free country, you owe your freedom to America. Period. And, don't worry, we will keep you free no matter how ignorant you become.

At the same time, a lot of essential items are way cheaper here (Canada), like pharmaceuticals, food, cars, pot, etc.

Yeah, but right now the Canadian dollar is at about $.75 US. Plus, at least here in Ontario, we pay 15% tax. You're right that games are about the same price, but overall the best you can do is equal US prices. Most of the time things are more expensive in Canada. Sometimes I get confused and the math makes me think I am saving lots of money though =).

It's not about the shipping at all. Canadian dollar usually hovers around $0.70 US. For those not mathematically inclined:

$70 Cdn * 0.70 = $49 US

See? Same price. With the variance in the dollar, our wages are numerically higher per capita to compensate for that. When you factor in the exchange rate, the wages and prices of most items are pretty much the same. No one is being ripped off.

That's right, m00t! It's like one big, but not so happy, family. heh

Someone said they pay ~$70 for a game, and MAD MAX RW piped up some shit about how if you live in Canada you are being ripped off.

Ahh.. well I know products usually cost more to be shipped to Canada, but you've also got a different currency there. So the $70 for a game there can't really be directly compared to $50/game for the US, can it?

Suck my asshole out. I have no problem with America the place, or Americans in general, but people who call any foriegner retarded, and assume America is heaven compared to any other country on earth - never realizing that their countrymen are responsible for every major problem in the world, or happily profit off of them - are fucking assholes in the first place.

(mormon space)

The majority of the work force in the US makes less than double minimum wage - these people cannot afford rent, bills, medical attention, and in many cases, food. Organic food is booming in both the US and Canada, but you have to be wealthy to afford it - in both countries, that is not at all the case for more than 60% of the population. My comments were for captain ignorant, not America.

ps: <american><DDI><MAD MAX> Get the fuck out of my country you fucking typical asshole foreigner</american></DDI></MAD MAX>

A simple rule of thumb here, for you and for whoever it was that commented about the patriot act and whatnot. Do not presume to speak as an authority about what it's like to live in a country if you've never actually LIVED there. Dumbasses.

Hey Moog...this applies to you too. I am embarrased for all Canadians on your behalf. I am an American currently living in Canada (getting a Masters at U of T) and I can honestly say that I love both countries. I just miss some of the retail stores I had in the US that I don't anymore =(....plus the prices for DVDs, CDs, and electronics in general are higher than I am used to.

One more thing Moog. Ever hear of Organic Foods? Whole Foods...Trader Joes...et alia? They are booming businesses in the US right now because people are demanding healthier drug-free foods. Funny thing is, they have separate organic food sections in your local Loblaws, Dominion, Sobey's, etc. So, obviously Canada too has to differentiate between organic and drug-pumped foods. Don't think you're such hot shit up in Canada...it's the person NOT the country that makes a difference, and you sir are a jackass.
