Well the one I got won't go away and I got it from the official site.

If you are running Linux then there's others having the same issues. There are detailed instructions in some of the comments on Extension Room regarding removal of flash-click-to-view. Click on the link I gave earlier and find it.

I've never had any problems disabling and enabling it in Phoenix/Firebird/Firefox under Win2k or WinXP though.

Oh, and it looks like there's another blocker extension which is actively under development: http://flashblock.mozdev.org/

Haven't checked it out yet, but may at some point (probably when they get whitelisting done).

That was interesting. Our in house electrician uses these 4-5' long flexible drill bits to get through the plate at the bottom of a wall when doing wire runs. I can't imagine life without them now.

Where do you get these drill bits (a link to someplace online would be great)? I'm perpetually doing more wiring in my house, either electrical or low-voltage (ethernet, cable, etc) and I've been putting some work off for months now because drilling between floors is such a major PITA.

I had a long discussion with someone in one of those /. threads about this, and he recommended a snipped wire hanger. I've tried that since with no success. And I really hate drilling through baseboards.

Well the one I got won't go away and I got it from the official site.

its almost impossable to uninstall and the guy who makes it dosen't tell you how.

Just go to tool/options/extensions.
Click flash click to play, and click disable.
That turns it off for me with no troubles.

You cannot actually “officially” uninstall extensions yet, just disable them. This is supposed to be fixed in the next release.

Ext are for Firefox, not Mozilla. Firefox is "built by Mozilla" ...sorta. Well, you can get it a mozilla.org.

Enahs, like the others, I cant help with the technical side but as far as some of your material needs go, go by your CATV company and mention that your going to do a bit of rewiring for your "CATV" (dont mention your doing it for other reasons) they *should* supply you with enough material to get the job done (wiring, splitters, etc). I did pre/post wiring back in the 80's and it was common practice to do this as its cheaper for the CATV companys who charge a flat fee for installs so the less time they spend on the job cuts their costs in labor.

Keep in mind this was 15 yrs ago and their policies may have changed. Anyhow, its worth a shot as they use top-grade stuff for all their work (just keep the request reasonable)
