Beneath a Steel Sky 2

A story on Computer And Video Games (thanks ScummVM) reveals that Revolution Software has revealed to them production on a sequel to Beneath a Steel Sky, quoting Revolution's Charles Cecil as saying:
"Beneath a Steel Sky is a game that is still widely respected and we are regularly asked when we will write the sequel," Cecil told us. "Beneath A Steel Sky 2 is a project Revolution has been considering for a while, and has stated to move forward on, but we are unable to comment beyond this."

You know, a sequel to Rex Nebular And the Cosmic Gender Bender would be fun. Not the most hard core adventure game, but tons of fun, all sorts of entertaining jokes and details.

Beneath a Steel Sky 1. Best sci-fi adventure game ever!

And the best of all is that the original game is now free. I'm still playing it on my PocketPC using ScummVM from time to time.

Lucasarts can die now in peace...

I'm the king of ADD and I loved Syberia, and I even tolerated playing King's Quest (finaly!). While King's Quest is quite innane at times, it was also one of the first graphical adventure games. So whatever.

Maby you should buy UT2k4 or BF:V along with your adventure games, so when you get frustrated you can go have some mindless fun.

Point of note, 9/10ths of the charm of Syberia is how the story unfolds. You start out as Kate Walker, insecure and pathetic. Then end up as Kate Walker, adventurer extraordinaire. You should probably smoke pot for a month and then play the original Syberia, you'll probably be much more interested in the sequal then.

They could really sell alot of VR equipment on a remake of Maniac Mansion. I wonder how much more R&D is needed for tactile simulation and input? Because whenever I say VR I don't mean a pair of headache inducing glasses, but the whole enchalada. I can forgive a lack of olfactory illusion, but damnit can't we affordably do the rest?

I digres, if you don't like the avilable adventure games then it sucks to be you. Thats that.

I have only a few things to say: Character. Based. 'Puzzles'. I've played too many adventure games in the past few years (i.e, most of them) that concentrated far too much on Object X + Object Y == Result Z. Remember the original Maniac Mansion? Remember how you could ring the door bell and Weird Ed would make his way down to the front door? You could then get another character to go into his room and loot the place. Take the hamster, microwave it. Show it to Weird Ed and he'd kill you. Play the tentacle mating tune to green tentacle and... you know.

I recently played the Syberia 2 demo. Crap. Totally asstastic. I spent the first 10 minutes walking through interactionless screens. Put a -game- into the adventure -game- please.

That is all.

Now this was an interesting game. Truth to tell, it was also one of the (not entirely so) few adventure games I finished without any help...just becuase I wanted to beat it without any help. The story was good, the art was good...a damn solid game, I thought.

Yeah, I do think I'll pick this one up when/if it comes out.
