Today's deluge of demos continues, as a demo for kill.switch is now available,
providing a sample of Bitmap Brothers' PC port of Namco's third-person action
game. This demo is a 78 MB download, which can be found on

its going to be released in the uk at the end of march and will retail for 9.99 which makes a bit of a mockery of the full price release it got on ps2 dontcha think !?!
game is very console-ish, but for 9.99 (and the 5-6 hours of gameplay) its actually not bad value, and better than having paid out or considering paying out for it on the ps2

Whats the game like? I installed it, found that it was horribly suffering from consolitis (external keymappings, wont let you map movement onto mouse buttons, only supports up to 1024, if that, etc etc) and tried to uninstall it.
At which point it turns out the uninstaller is broken too.
I think from now on, if a game comes out in console format first, I won't even give it a chance.

That is my point. They made some great titles but nowadays they tend to suck the fat corporate one. They see to have zero creativity at Bitmap these days. They need an enema.
they never used to do crap, they were responsible for the mighty speedball, chaos engine, xenon and many more very cool titles in the ole days

The only reason that a game like this is made is because Namco can. They have too much cash obviously and decided it was time for filla in the market. If a new/small developer approaced a publisher with this they would be told in no uncertain terms where the door was to enable them to leave.
No surprise that Bitmap Bros are involved with this pile of crap as they specialise in that - ports, crap ports and general crap as well.

I beat this game 2+ months ago...it was crappy then and steam wasn't involved

Gimmick game, no bones about it. I know I know, but I can only accept so many gimmicks and this one missed the bus, short as it may be.

This game blows, don't bother.
As much as I hate bashing something people so obviousely worked hard on, something in the back of my head tells me they won't mind since it's just a job to them. This game proves it.

The game could use a filter to make it look less "shiny," but the action's not bad. It would be great if it supported extra mouse buttons... but it doesn't. Demo's short as hell though, and suffers from typical console port menu unfriendliness.
Oh, and christ, you have to sit through like eight splash screens (unskippable).

Make sure it isnt that nitro family crap.
OMF of the brief play i had of the full game i would say isnt worth it either.
This one might be, i have it but wont try it until tommorow.

Played Through it on Xbox, loved the controls though weapons and enemies were a little wonky. Got better near the end. Plot really thickens into a healthy plot stew

I rented the PS2 version. I gave it up by about the 4th level. It was just plain boring. I'm not sure why I keep trying console FPS games. I keep hoping I might actually like one eventually. The only 2 that I can recall ever enjoying are GoldenEye for N64 and Halo on XBox, and Halo was really only fun for about the first half of the game, and then it just got repetitive.
