Sam & Max Sequel Axed

LucasArts has posted the announcement of cancellation of Sam & Max Freelance Police, planned as a sequel to Sam & Max Hit the Road, their classic adventure game (thanks Quboid). Word is:
"After careful evaluation of current market place realities and underlying economic considerations, we've decided that this was not the appropriate time to launch a graphic adventure on the PC" says Mike Nelson, Acting General Manager and VP of Finance and Operations. There is currently no plan to reduce staff.

In the not too distant future
Way down at Lucasarts
Mike Nelson and his corporate pals
Were doing thier evil arts

They started a game called Sam & Max
A really good game, but they gave it the ax
The fans didnt like this, not one bit
So they clonked him on the noggin and they shot him into space

We'll send him crappy Star Wars clones

He'll have to sit and play them all
And we'll monitor his mind
