Since I never bought this game I will settle with a quick 'haha' to those who did :-p .

I hope the patch makes it a more playworthy title...

I don't see any REAL AI fixes so no just a "looks good" patch.

I thought the game was fantastic and never experienced the performance problems that some people were talking about. Maybe I'm just lucky or my system is configured in just the right way.

I just hope this patch will ALLOW me to play. Even though my systems EXCEEDS even the "recommended rig" I get a slideshow and stuck music when the program gets to the Main menu. Highly disappointing, when I had been looking forward to this game for so long.

With every patch they are steadily creaping closer to making it the game they should have contemplated releasing in the first place, but I still don't think this one is going to help me get into this game.. Still waiting for the 'storytelling' patch, I guess.

Although I did have some fun briefly when I decided to simply play as the character from Pain Killer -- but even that only served to piss me off as there were apparently no repercussions for my homicidal rampage, which you would expect there to be in a game like DE. I did appreciate not having to reload my weapon though

What an interesting patch. If the description is accurate they didn't fix a whole lot. I guess speed optimizations are a big thing. I'm still waiting for the patch that fixes the HUD, inventory, font size, AI--all the important stuff--before I buy this game. I was expecting it to be out around the first of March. Doesn't it seem strange they would release one patch immediately before another? Maybe the *real* patch has been pushed way back. Maybe horrible bugs surfaced during testing. Damn, I was looking forward to a 10 or 12 hour light diversion.

Those were resolved in the first patch. Resolved meaning made more user friendly, not resolved meaning redesigned to fit your individual expectations.

Okay downloading the patch now. I just booted up 1.1 IW at the Emerald Suite map. I was getting an average of 22fps at 1024x768. When I turned Bloom the textures got washed out and everything was given a fuzzy outline. Patch is installing now, will report back in a minute.

On the same map with the same settings I am now getting an average of 36fps. Still slower than I would like but very playable and more in line with the performance hit I would expect pixel shaders to incur. Bloom still washes everything out though.

Considering that the patch installer makes changes to pretty much every map file and many others, I think they've done quite a bit more than the technical fixes mentioned in the news post. Haven't played it yet, though.

...the mag rail's secondary to work correctly? I thought shooting through walls + seeing through walls would be killer, but I swear it never hurt a thing.

Mag Rail secondary fire only did EMP damage. So unless you were targetting bots or cameras that would explain why you never hurt anything.

love the bloom. that was the best part of the game.

the pc fixes are welcomed, but cannot rectify designing for a console in the first place.

when reading pre-game interviews by the devs, I will now take note of simultaneous XBOX coding/design as a RED FLAG!!!

Just noticed something else: user settings are now saved globally. That means that the resolution doesn't reset back to 640x480 everytime you load the game.
