Out of the Blue

It's a double-burial here at the BlueTower today, as we're buried in snow, and of course, buried in email. This worm continues to flood the internet, Frans points out one estimate putting the number of infected mails at one-in-12 and another that places it as one-in-nine. The ratio is even worse here, and I needed to wade through my mail server with a machete before I could even get the mess to download (wheee!). Meanwhile, there's another huge pile of snow outside. Whatever happened to the good old days when the weatherman was always wrong? Seems like lately they are always right on, which would be fine if they would only stop predicting blizzards.

Oh, and once again, one can only hope there's a special ring in techie hell for ISPs and users "savvy" enough to notify senders that they may have sent a virus... nothing like trying to plow through the endless worms and also have to suffer through all these idiotic "you may have sent a virus" warnings that are being sent to the forged return addresses on these mails.

Will spam be gone by 2006 (thanks Tony!!!)? We can only hope...
