The thing is ... there is now a free base to work from.. Hell you could implement Stright DM into the game - no problems. Any restriction has been lifted and you should open youself to the biggest played base imaginable because its a FREE GAME.

...because the weapons are different than Q3. So is the scenery. RTCW/ET are team multiplayer games only because the developers never implemented straight DM and/or bots. There's room for both teamplay and straight DM in a game.

Well current word has it that Urban Terror of Quake III Arena fame is now going to be ported over to ET.

So fans of this mod rejoice good times await.

I never understood why people want DM in ET or RTCW. They are TEAM MULTIPLAYER GAMES. The key here is TEAM. If I want DM I would get Cube or Quake III...

aaaah that would make more sense then

That was pretty annoying that there was no DM or bots in RTCW. See? Now I can agree!

That would be great Hump. Safe bet, therefore, that Atari is not going to do it. That might actually make them "popular"...

If Atari had half a brain they'd do for XMP what Activision has done with ET. Just write it off as good PR and make an attempt at supporting the community.

We don't need a "next counter-strike".

Just wow. Thanks Activision! Now all we need is for the next Counter-Strike to be made for ET and it will be wonderfully ironic.

Bani is makeing a mod called bayonET which he will be adding the MP44 and Bazzoka and allot of other things. He has a head start because only him and shrub were given the source. Another cool thing with the ETpro is that you you setup with campain it will only force the player to DL the maps in the campain and not every map the players dosen't have.

All I have to say about ET and Dling is it's 100000 times better than RTCW. ET has HTTP redirects and if the admin knows what he is doing you can get up to 300k a second. With RTCW the most was about 15k so trust me I don't mind Dling from ET server.

...woulda been nice if they included free for all with bot support from the initial release. This is not a knock on the team deathmatch though. Kinda late now i suppose...

I would have glady paid $50 for a retail version of ET, without it's sp component, but with 15+ more mp maps. This was one of the best, if not thee best mp game of 2003. Very polished, bug "free", and just plain fun.

Ok... Any mods that had any question about what game to design for should have their questions answered.... Up until now - a inital purchase was required for any game to be able to use a mod - however Wolfenstein ET is a FREE game so any mod devloped for it dosen't require any base platform - it could consieveably have the biggest mod user base ever if modders take advantage of it...

I'm actually glad to see this. I love this game and put in at least 1hr to 2hrs a night playing this. Sadly I feel like this game is slipping a bit but releasing the source may kick it in the ass and get some nice mods out of it besides the ETPro Mod from Bani. Here's hoping the community will come through on some nice stuff.

Yes it is annoying having to download a lot of crap, but that is why you favorite nice ping servers that you do not have to.
This is the best game ever, and it is can now maybe even get better!

Wasn't expecting this .. pretty cool.

Except it's already annoying having to download crap from every server, so I wonder what this'll do for the whole situation.
