Cuban American Bar Association Condemns Racially Charged Video Game (thanks Chris Johnson and Gamasutra (registration required)) has word of the latest unhappy reaction to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, as the Cuban American Bar Association (CABA) has sent a letter "to the manufacturers of the video game... condemning the game's use of racially charged remarks promoting the hate and killing of Haitians and Cubans," demanding an apology to each group. They copy U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft and Florida Governor Jeb Bush , as they are also "seeking the removal of the offensive video game from store shelves throughout the country." Finally: "CABA's letter quotes the Haitian government spokesperson, Mr. Mario Dupuy, who stated, 'this racist game is psychologically extremely dangerous and is an incitement to genocide.'"

These uber-liberals do my head in!! I have played GTA since it first appeared right up to Vice city - which has resulted in a few hundred hours of game play I dare say. Hours spent ethnic cleansing = 0. Why is this? Because its a game.

Just like most people with an iota of sense will know. Just like the movie going public know its just a movie. Who can account for the odd jobs in society who take things too far such as the few suicides after the exorcist came out - nobody.

In the whole of GTA3 and Vice city you attack just about every race of man there is yet there is no defence for the white man being killed? Is it only the white man who can tell the difference between reality and the fantasy world these days? I know it isn't and I know Cubans, Haitans not to mention Chinese, Japanese and Italians play these games so these uber-PC turds should stfu and get their media attention by actually doing some work to help these people they supposedly support!

F@ck them. F@ck them in their stupid asses!!!
