Gray Matter Lives

The folks at Gray Matter Studios have been noticeably silent since word came out about the cancellation of their Trinity project (story), but now an update to the Gray Matter Studios Website (thanks Frans) reveals that the Activision subsidiary is still alive. That's about all they are revealing, however, as they are tight-lipped about what they are doing: "we are hard at work on something new and very top secret... if we told you, we'd have to kill you..."

I know what he's talking about though, with Halo in particular it seemed like I could shoot for hours and get nothing done.

lol Beamer, that is a pretty sorry excuse for not liking rtcw then as the options menu lets you pick from like 8 different crosshairs.

I still didn't like Wolfenstein. Though I can't deny that the models, at the time, were unreal. Seeing the opening cutscene... two guys talking in an office never impressed me as much.

Even now it could probably hold it's own decently well against Max Payne 2.

I just didn't like the feel of the weaponry. As I've said before, I think it was the large, circular crosshairs, and should go back. For some reason I never felt like my bullets had any accuracy or where doing much of anything at all, still think those crosshairs are responsible, because the rifle in Halo gave me a similar feeling.

I'm still pissed Trinity got canceled!!! Hopefully they're working on something better!!!

Here's what's probable: They traded the Quake3 for the Doom3 engine and they're making something incredibly cool, along the lines of Trinity.

Or, they're making another spin-off game for another developer like so many are doing these days.

The gimmick might indicate some sort of spy game I guess.

The "artists" at Ion Storm might learn a thing or two from GM's graphical prowess. They can create a "dark, moody" atmosphere not only through manipulating light and shadow but from the amount of detail (grime, soot, moss, etc.) they manage to cram into their textures.

They're probably working on an Xbox 2 title that can't be discussed.

how out of proportion is it? It sounds like a few people are saying "ha, what a stupid gimmick". Seems like a very proportionate reaction.

Its not like a million people are suddenly interested in what you are doing.

Its funny how one small move by our office secretary can get so blown out of proportion. She updated our "People" page and then went ahead and just made up something goofy to put on the main page.

We're not trying to tease anyone. We're not trying to do anything. It was simply just something she put up.

Yes, we're working on something that hasn't been announced. It will be in due time.
