I liked the way you could sneak up on ppl such as underneath the beachouse huts and you can even shoot thru the floorboards, the swiming is done very well. I still will buy Doom3 & Halflife2 but i will by this as well.

System specs AMD-2000, GF3, 1gig ram, Audigy2, 120 HD---I turned up all options even the advanced graphics cept i left off antialising and i got no slow down what so ever, also using the new sunburst drivers beta which makes a big difference i think.

I have the textures keep resetting to medium quality as well. My specs:

AMD 2300 mhz
Gainward 5950 Ultra 256 475/945 core/mem
2X512 Kingston DDR400 running insync with the cpu at 400 FSB

I posted a tad earlier on how this is running for me. Think there are some bigtime memory leak issues at work here. A more optimized demo must be in order. I mean, it chokes the mouse in the menus. lol

I wanna try it openGL , anyone know the exact way to do this? Thx.

SO far, as I've only run through the demo for a half-hour. My experience so far has been really positive!

Not quite as open-ended as ones led to believe as the geography "forces" you in certain directions, which is to be expected. However, on more than one occasion I was wishing for a "climb" feature to get up steep rock faces, etc...

Do not like the save game system at all, this checkpoint crap is really old and I hate it. I should be able to save whenever and whereever I please. I hope they change that little feature.

On my mid range system the game runs extraordinarily well! I am really suprised and relieved, its about time something stable comes out for the PC.

The AI is pretty darned good, for all the reasons mentioned earlier. Its a rare thing to come across a lone mercenary, their typically in twos, which makes the silent kill all that much harder.

Far Cry Assault mode in beta leak is awesome, you have 3 classes Grunt, Scout and Enginner the map in beta called airstrip is awesome large jungle ton of water pools, jungle spots etc, and of course airstrip. The map is also highly interactive, you can build walls, bridge, towers bunkers weapons and destroy part of map as well. Then there are vehicles you can drive including jeeps and boats in beta. It simply pwns, the physics and control is good. The only thing is weapon power and balance needs to be addressed along with sone sound issues but I believe sound is much better in single player demo.

I can't wait for multiplayer demo due in march because beta multiplayer is just awesome.

Keep in mind though, Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time came our yesterday, and that is a highly anticipated demo as well, so that is not helping either!

Damn the developers for releasing demos for us to play!

Apparently the same problem occurs with 4.1. The game REQUIRES 3.9, no more and no less.

Well since I got a Geforce FX 5900 Ultra 256 klocked to 511/938 (faster then yours ) i think it's ok with the dx9 card thing.

And I can set eveything to very high quality too, just not Texture Filter Quality. When I change it it just resets to Medium later. Isnt anyone else having this problem?

I have seen that some people recommend Direct X for Radeon cards and Open Gl for NVidia cards. You can specify what render mode you need in the systemcgf.lua file. Man I got a meagre system and it runs fine with everything set to medium (except environment settings which are set at high, otherwise there is no detail grass which makes everything look empty). It runs fine for me.

This is like taking a tropical vacation with guns.

May be you should upgrade to the 4.1. Will download the demo tonight when I get home and let you know whether that works. I got an AIW 9800 with the latest Cats, hopefully it will work and I will get ot see what the hype is all about. Screenies look pretty good, I admit.

I get a lot of graphical corruption with Radeon 9800P and Cat 3.10. According to the official forums you MUST use Cat 3.9 to avoid this problem. There is no bloody way I'm downgrading drivers -- particularly ATI's wonky drivers -- to play a demo. Has anyone found a workaround with the graphics settings?

I can set to very high quality. On my Geforce FX 5950 Ultra (bios modded from a Geforce FX 5900... mabey you need a DX9 card?

Well, after playing the mp beta for a week i thought it couldnt get any better...

BOY WAS I WRONG! Damn this game has it all. After a really sucky gaming year 2003, this is what we hardcore PC FPS gamers need. And this game looks and runs so damn good. And it still just on medium quality (can anyone set everything to Very High? It just resets some settings all the time for me)

This is a sure buy, and not just for singelplayer. The mp is great too.
