ok...the first episode of the short film is now up on the game website....so frikkin cool!! It looks like it's going to have a "Gone in 60 seconds" sort of vibe to it...the guy playing the main character...Tanner...even sort of looked like Nick Cage in one scene.and the last scene....brilliant!!

Well how much on foot combat would be watered down? Think of any movie of this genre, they don't break out submachine guns and bazookas and have shootouts all the time, just a couple of gunfughts to escape from, etc. Much of the time is spent developing story, 'making deals', running around town, etc. Theres never as much shooting as would appear...

This game should rock, I really enjoyed teh first one, the driving physics are excellent. I didn't play the second (consoles suck). Glad this will be on PC.

Hopefully this game will not suffer from the dreaded "u need to upgrade your videocard to play it at 30fps" syndrome,or consolitis,as seeing it is being developed for multiple platforms. Other than these two worries i am mainly looking foward to it. I had a great time with Dr1ver & Driv2r during my Playstation days.

I am puzzled about the devs saying the focus is driving, and the on-foot part will not be too overwhelming.
Why put in the bloody guns in the 1st place then? Maybe they are trying to entice the GTA crowd over. Hope they don't screw up too much then. I rather have no on-foot combat rather than a watered down version.

Look at the cars, look at the size and quality of the cities that you drive around. This game will chew GTA up and spit it onto the curb. GTA was good but too cartoony for my liking. Lacked good driving physics also, as well as poorly modeled vehicles. Driv3r (pronounced Driver 3 :)) will have some of the best driving physics ever found in a game of this genre. GTA is good for going around and causing havoc, but that got boring fast for me after GTA3 (Vice Sucked), so where GTA left off this game will pick up the shattered garbage that R* left behind and make for an awesome game (I hope).

I think I played this game when it was called GRAND THEFT AUTO. Is there anything different?
