I haven't had the tiniest problem with my ATI Radeon 9600XT, catalyst 3.10s, on any game yet. Everything runs smoothly and looks absolutely gorgeous.

Of course, I haven't loaded up KOTOR yet...

it must be my fault..
o well rollback to the distribution CD and all is back to normal.

Edit : Btw, that article nitpicks about spelling errors, which is a bit sad considering the guy who makes the DNAs is Dutch, and as such English is not his first language. In the age of Internet ZP3L1NG, arguing about that is TEH SUCK and a little strange.

One is a raving Dutchman (DNA), the other is a born again christian (Omega).

I realize it's probably nothing special for people who overlock regulary, or people who know alot more about computers then I do.

But I think it's cool that the Overdrive(tm) function is telling me that my Raedon car is at 28c and hnese running in 526mhz. I must admit, for the price, I like my little 9600XT

And so far they are working fine without SP1.

My Wolfenstein ET is working again.

Hummm... Their comment in the KNOWN ISSUES section of the Release Notes says:

Significant performance loss is noticed in Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. This issue is already resolved and a fix will be available in the next CATALYST™ driver release

That's worded to sound like a general problem. That is, not something that only happens with a particular chip, operating system, or display mode.

That's good news it works OK.

I tried Omega Drivers one time and they made my whole system unstable. Never felt the need to use them again.

I have an Asus 9600XT and I'm not seeing the overdrive tab in these new 4.1's. Other than taht though, the driver seems totally fine. My Wolfenstein ET is working again.

Good call on the driver uninstallation - I thought it was the whole thing, shows what I know

No it actually is, you were right. You have to uninstall your whole driver package, then run the Omegas. The Omegas actually HAVE the ATI 3.10 driver in them, they just install it for you, as opposed to the dna which makes you install the 3.10 yourself, then uninstall the control panel for it, then install the dna on top.

The article was actually quite interesting, although perhaps a bit too heavy on the dna dude. It's never given me any problems with the one scrolling exception, and that's still here with the Omegas too, so it's probably just an issue with the browser.

Kinda suspect ethics there though, stealing someone's work and then claiming it as your own...?

Oh well. You still play RRT3, Quboid?

All cars are now being drawn properly when Anti-Aliasing is enabled and playing the game Race Driver by ToCA

..doesn't inspire much confidence when they don't even realize that it's a game called "TOCA Race Driver" BY CODEMASTERS!!!

(really glad to hear it's fixed though)

NP, anything for a fellow RRT3'er

Yeah, that's a bit rough on the spelling. The ethics part, however, isn't so great. I'm impressed by the Omegas - anyone know how long it's likely to take for Omega's based on the 4.1s? When my 9800XT arrives, I'll do a bit of benchmarking with Omegas and Offials.

Good call on the driver uninstallation - I thought it was the whole thing, shows what I know.

Never heard of the DNA's before, checking them out now. These look interesting:

http://www.sweclockers.com/html/artikel/art_030726_030726.php?page=1 (swedish, but the graphs are universal )

There are some nice performance increases with either 3rd party pack which I didn't know was available. I'd like to know about IQ...

The Omega site says to uninstall the officals before installing the Omega's.
