Out of the Blue

We got a good dose of several inches of snow last night, and though the snow often brings warmer temperatures, this time around it did not impact the arctic chill we've had around here. On the bright side, this kept the stuff from getting sloppy or heavy or even packed down, so rather than tempt fate with the sun beating down, I just got out there and shoveled the snow while it was still being cooperative. Shoveling the light powder is not nearly as tiring as when it is wetter, and it went very quickly, but boy did I end up numb from the cold anyway. This is fun and all, but I am definitely ready for spring.

Target (a similar chain store in the US) is a bit more pricey (barely), but has shorter lines

Shorter lines? SHORTER LINES???

Damn, the fucking Target that I rarely frequent here has 32 registers built, of which at any one time at MOST five or six are open, and it's a GUARANTEED 15 minute wait before you can finally pay for your carton of milk and six eggs. Target is so fucking slow it's led me to coin the phrase "Hey, we're at Target" whenever there is a line in front of any register at any place.

I have no problem with Wal-Mart myself, it's cheap and for quite awhile my wife and I couldn't afford anything more expensive. It's also nice to have a lot of different stuff in one place. However, I wouldn't buy any of my more expensive items there (ie, furniture, pricy electronics etc).

Edit : Seriously, why do people apologize for double posts? Are we that uptight?

No it's more to head off the "Cr35t0n U FUK1nG Sp4M DuMB4ZZ!!" replies that would otherwise inevitably follow.

If you ever have a kid you'll probably have ultrasounds -- the "ultrasound gel" is nothing more than KY. And your wife will damn well want it warmed too!

Cold KY is the least of a pregnant womans problems!

I've watched three deliveries. Ouch, drugs or no drugs, ouch! I've often said that if men had to bear children abortion would be free and legal everywhere.

KY jelly is used for more than sex lube ya know... it was actually designed as a surgical lube and is still used in hospitals for a wide variety of stuff.

You have a wife *and* a keen sense of dress sense?

I have a wife... I do not have a keen sense of dress.

What does your boyfriend think about you having a wife?

Shhh.... he doesn't know! I take the ring off you see.

No, I'm straight. But I had a gay roommate for a couple years (college friend) and my wife has a number of gay (male) and bi (female) friends. Sorry, no threesomes. Homosexual jokes really do bounce right off me.

How Wal-Mart is Destroying America and The World and What You Can Do About It:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1580082319/qid=1074232596/sr=1-2/ref=sr_1_2/104-2225230-2344708?v=glance&s=books

Other Wal-Mart related info.

http://dir.yahoo.com/Society_and_Culture/Issues_and_Causes/Consumer_Advocacy_and_Information/Consumer_Opinion/Individual_Companies/Wal_Mart/

Ultra-brief opinions on why Wal-Mart is bad.

1. They cost domestic jobs in manufacturing (try looking for a tag in Wal-Mart that doesn't say Made in China, India or Mexico).

2. The consistenly mistreat employees. They hire illegals, etc.

3. They contribute to depressing the wage average and overall standard of living.

Enhas (that's pronounced like Enya the singer, right?), your correct that this forum shouldn't be used for namecalling or that namecalling would be tolerated here. But, everything else, you were wrong. First, people, especially people who's enjoyment of freedom stems from confining and torturing rats and rabbits, need to question why we are beign provided some information by the media while other issues are overlooked.
Ya gotta stop letting blue do your thinking for you and think for yourself. I can tell ur a real genuios by the way you posted how security's so tight where you work and then gave out enough clues for clever thinking PETA folks to locate the precise address where you engage in your acts of animal cruelty in teh name of science. You should be ascared!
As for Wal-Mart, it's like not eating tic-taks if the plastic cases aren't being recycled .. sometimes you just gotta stop doing things for the sake of the environment/world/future. It's called Kharma. You will come back as a cockroach in the next life unless you start living well.

It might not be the "substance" that makes it warm, just the act of putting it on that is "warming".
