Purge Jihad Trial

Purge Jihad is now available, the reworked variation of Purge, Freeform Interactive's online shooter/RPG hybrid. Here's a bit on the game, and the accompanying trial version: "Purge Jihad is offered in both a free (unregistered) and paid (registered) mode. 'We are allowing everyone to have fun together,' explains Freeform's Lead Artist Joerg Ecker. 'Unregistered and registered players can play together on the same server.' The free, unregistered trial includes the full game without any time limits but is simply limited to 4 classes. Registered players will have access to all 8 classes." The trial version is a 325 MB download, available, along with a patch to update the beta, from the Purge Jihad Website and mirrored on 3D Gamers, Computer Games Online, FileFront, Filerush, Gamer's Hell, and Worthplaying.

unreal2 xmp is pretty lame, the vehicles are shit, there's 3 classes and all of their weapons suck and much much more

i tried playing america's army again one day and found myself on a server where all the players would give their weapons to one guy on their team and LITERALLY sit down and wait for the one guy to run around throwing grenades all over the forest and i guess the other team would do that too because as soon as you'd enter the forest on map start you'd get a grenade to the face from nowhere.. so in conclusion: lame as well

Hey, I'll take free content anytime.

Hats off to the developers for the game

I already played the demo once for this utter piece of garbage. I don't intend to be suckered again. "Reworked variation" my ass. If you sculpt a turd into a statue of David, it's still a turd.

Quality free game = Return To Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory.

Good call, grappling hooks are so easy to impliment, it is suprising mods don't do it anymore. Sure, it breaks practically every level design there is, but it's still responsible for some of my fondest FPS memories.

I remember NetWAR doing something like this, the demo only let you have 2 classes, and you couldn't use the big vehicles.

PS. Ninja was better.

No, in their defense, "Jihad" was one of the modes in the original FvF Quake (circa 1997). "Purge" was another.

If you want to go off on capitalizing on current events, see Desert Combat (though that's not a commercial product)

Purge Jihad sounds like a crusade against people with eating disorders.

Nope, just a marketing ploy to capitalize on the word "jihad", which has been in current events.
