for 18 billion per year. And how are you going to get that 18 billion per year? Let me guess, tax the rich. Guess what, most of the people considered rich by the government aren't the super-stinking-filthy rich types. My father is considered rich by the tax brackets. He still has his budget problems. Are you going to punish him, just because he's successful and made good business decisions, so some low life drug addict in Detroit, who would probably rather not work, can get a job to feed his five illegitimate children? I've seen the poverty in my area, and past areas where I've lived. Most of those people aren't worth helping. A lot of them are drains on society, they bring it down. Giving them more money to spend on their crack houses would just make it worse. It sounds cruel but it's realistic. Not everyone who doesn't have a job, or steady income, wants or deserves one.
