Not really, it's actually pretty heavy news. Various ownership of the company means that they could change their direction altogether if they decided to. I doubt that Carmack and the others would have granted partial ownsership to the two guys if there was anything to worry about, but now the pie is split 5 ways instead of 3
This could definitely effect future projects at id. When it came time to do Doom3, John C., Steed, and someone else (can't remember who) were in favor of it, while others at id weren't (Steed wasn't an owner though). I could see this kind of tug of war happening again at some point...
But congrats to Todd and Tim - they've been there awhile, and I'm sure they've paid their dues...
