Whats sad is a lot of the people that pay for servers are just their to execrise their boot power and feel important, especially when bested by someone else.

Funny, I never really experienced this until the other night when an admin on some Canadian server called BBQ kicked my buddy Devicer for cheating because he was shooting at Devicer who turned around and shot him in the head. I asked why he kicked him and he said because in his opinion that was "sketchy."

Needless to say, the only actually sketchy thing involved was this guy coming right out and saying that the right to do this was the reason he was paying his $40 a month.

Anyone else notice on the bottom left of that new page there is an option for server leasing?

Well the MMORPG execs finally showed them a way to keep revenue up. Whats sad is a lot of the people that pay for servers are just their to execrise their boot power and feel important, especially when bested by someone else.

Interesting note: much of the blame regarding M16 unreliability can be placed on the original ammunition issued with the gun. The 5.56 ammunition given then to the troops used a low quality sticky powder that caused a buildup of dirt in the M16 mechanism and eventually led to jamming problems. When the ammunition was changed, the misfire problems mostly disappeared as well. With proper cleaning and maintenance, it was regarded as quite the reliable weapon--not as reliable as the venerable AK47, though, for which US troops were often encouraged to discard their M16s.

Game looks pretty sweet, but I can't help but think that it will have a lot of the same issues that made me stay away from 1942.

From the BF:V site:
"Produced in mass quantities, the M16 is very reliable."

uhm.. nope. The modern version of it is very good but the ones used in vietnam were notorious for their unreliability.

Game looks nice though.

Doom 3 might be a glorified engine demo, but at least it's a GOOD engine. Not one with quality from three years ago that even after multiple on modern behemoths, still runs poorly and crashes often. I do like Battlefield and am not really looking forward to Doom 3, but I think there are things one could learn from the other.

You must get excited easily.

i'm going to assume you suck at bf1942, so let me say that it's alot more fun when you learn how to perform well.

for me, bf1942 became what i was hoping halo would become back when i first saw it. that said, no matter how excited i am for bfv, i'm still excited about half-life 2, doom3, halo2, ect... but as of today, there's still no other game that can offer the type of gameplaye delieved by bf1942

No. I don't like Half-Life, it was boring and overrated (omg blasphemy!!!). Doom 3 is nothing more than a glorified engine demo (a-la Quake 3). BF1942 on the other hand breathed some life into the stagnating multiplayer FPS market, and BFV looks like it may top it in every way possible.

I'd be nice to see some blood or otherwise to let you know you're hitting and/or killed someone.

Say what you will, but I like having some blood when things in a game get killed...
