We received a delivery yesterday of a potted plant that was packaged in that neat corn starch packing material that you can dissolve in warm water. With more than a little amusement, we watched Hudson the wonder dog play with a piece of this stuff for a while before eating it. We figured that this is probably not meant for consumption, but how much harm could a little piece do? (Cue ominous music.) The harm is that this gave her a taste for this stuff, and when I came downstairs today, I found no fewer than six discrete piles of vomit on the kitchen floor. Seems the little monster had dug back into the box, which had been closed, but carelessly left on the floor, and chowed down on enough of this stuff to make her sick. She seems fine now, even though her normal food tends to be a lot closer to the Atkins diet.
