"So Moog, When you play online, do you flirt with male players and NPC's as part of the "fun" of playing a virtual woman? Is that what grown ups do?"
No, grown ups make brilliant rebuttals weakly suggesting I am actually a closet case. I haven't played a single game where, as a female character, I have been in a position to flirt with the male characters. And what would the problem be if I did? As I am comfortable with my sexuality outside of my computer game-fantasy land (it becomes obvious when examining your homophobia that you are absolutely not comfortable with your sexuality... maybe you need a good dick in your ass to feel right) I would certainly flirt with the male NPCs if it were possible. As for online games and real people, I am alwayseither too busy simulating the murder of people who are busy chatting away saying clever shit like "U HOMO!!!", "U FAG", and the ever brilliant "So you have a woman model to play as? U FAG!", or, I am smart enough to make the distinction between harmless flirting with NPCs and actual flirting with other players.

You have a point about first person games, but for THIRD person games only the open exploration of homosexuality in all of its limber forms can explain the preference for choosing a bulging male character.

The unique thing about the NOLF series was that during actual play the 1st person perspective gave you very few indications that you were in fact, a curvaceous British spy poured into a skin tight, cleavage bearing cat suit.

Playing as a female really didn't affect the way I played (Even after making my crosshair color pink), hence this whole argument becomes a non-issue. Perhaps this was intented by the devs.

Hopefully Havok will extend its physics code to include breasts and ass interaction.....

Then we can finally look down and stare at Cate's breasts in the next version of NOLF. The shadows created from muzzle flashes will gently caress them with every expended round.

I always wondered why there were even male characters?

Gaming is, for the most part, a male endevour. Why on Baby Jesus' erection would you want to look at a guy's ass while playing instead of a shapely female one? Hopefully Havok will extend its physics code to include breasts and ass interaction as this would be a tremendous benefit to gameplay.

Played the Joan of Arc demo--terrible. My PC is a good three to four times more powerful than the game's minimum requirements, and the game chugs even with all of the special features turned off. The controls were designed specifically to piss players off: it's like Tomb Raider, only worse (especially that horse). Even on Easy, the game is overly difficult, and your allies' AI is practically nonexistant. Can't say I care for the two (two!) music tracks and the lack of voice acting, either.

Worthplaying's Ys VI trailer gets me more excited, even if it is the old Japanese trailer released months and months ago (I wonder which of their staffers had the bright idea of digging that one up...) I still can't believe Konami got the rights to that game. Maybe they can wring an Ys I-V compilation out of Nihon Falcom and release it in Summer 2004, to give us undeserving gaijin some backstory.

Thats what im sure i wanna see posted here other than that WGAF if you like male or female characters in games all i wanna know is if you all liked the demo.

i will admit to being kinda partial to females in tight clothing but hey who isnt.

Well i tried the demo of this game and it left me liking it but wondering why is it so hard

And i do like the aspects of this game very much indeed , I love rpg's, and i love rts but i love them on there own merits, im not sure if the developers can pull this off but im excited to see them try.

And if this doesnt work out to be a good game then you can bet ill be waiting for febuary for SPELLFORCE when it comes out, at least i know i will like that game cause its getting raves from europe and the uk.

I use female characters in Jedi Academy and KOTOR because it's cool and hot to see a female running around and kicking ass with some swords.

I use a female avatar all the time. My first character in Morrowind was female and online I'll use a female skin whenever I think she looks cool. Its for exactly the reason stated, that some people think that it should be an extension of one's "persona", that by "being" a female avatar one thinks that I will act and play like a female and underestimate my mad ski11z.

Some people don't play games as an extension of their "persona", they play then for fun. It doesn't matter what sex the protagonist is if the game is fun. Now, THAT seems simple to me, so what's with your attitude of "I don't get why anyone would play as a woman"? A touch of homophobia projecting itself? grow up
