The zombies were former UAC workers, though, they didn't come from Hell. The other Hell minions just made them zombies when they arrived at the UAC facility. They would be using anything at hand which would make a good weapon, so they still shouldn't have chainsaws.

Sorry - unless you're a Martian engineer, I don't think you're qualified to say what equipment should and shouldn't be on a base, set up to do creepy research that tears up the space/time continuum, on a moon of Mars, in the distant future.

Psh.

Chainsaws cut wood or something of similiar structure and hardness. They are also make what you could call a crude cut. If they had to cut stuff and this is in the near future, you would think they would want very precise control for whatever they're doing. Thus, they would use lasers, not chainsaws. Lasers are already used today for cutting all sorts of things. By the time period Doom 3 is supposed to take place in, they will probably be much more common, efficient, and accurate. It just doesn't make sense to have chainsaws on a Mars research outpost!

(Yeah, I'm really bored right now. I think I'll hit the hay.)

I have stated this about the chainsaw many times.

The name you are looking for is "sawzall" a large one though!
To be honest, it would be STUPID to build a manned mars base, that you would keep building on, and not have a good number of sawzall’s!

Who in the hell would bring a freaking chainsaw to mars? wha? But I guess I should stop complaining about this, ahh well....

EDIT: and LOSE THE CHAINSAW. Use a cut-off/metal saw instead (or something that can be justified on Mars).

Heh, I was thinking the same thing. I saw the zombie thing starting up his saw and was thinking, "What the hell are they using a chainsaw on mars for?"

this was a fine hi rez effort. But really, wtf release the same ...old...movie a bit higher rez each time? And with such pomp and fanfare??? lol I need to see somthing new as well. This sorta reminds me of reading STALKER interviews, they all say the same thing. Or, seeing new STALKER screenshots. One sees so many now, they don`t have the same effect anymore. At a time like this, only a demo is gonna suffice. There is such a thing as oversatuarating the potential client base. ;p

Time for a new trailer with the newer physics implemented. Some of the NPC's flopping to the ground like a lump of clay just doesnt look good now that advanced physics is the norm for most shooters.

So you mean, they're finally releasing a trailer 7 months after E3, and we're supposed to get all excited about it.
I think not.
And yeah, Christmas is dead this year. Feast or Famine, and we're starving. Next year we get everything. U2XMP, UT2K4, HL2, D3, TV, and possible Q4 at the end of the year.

If D3 doesn't release by E3 (May), it will be 3 cycles of the show. And what's funny, is that they had a working model of the game at the first E3. So what has been taking so long, if the engine was done 2 years ago?

Game developers suck these days. Fans don't want a top secret movie. We want a beta, a demo, something to play on our machines.

Instead of a trailer, we should have an Alpha to try, something.

Yea ever since the leak came out Ive been puzzled by the odd smoke behavior of the weapons, it looks terrible to be frank. Sometimes I think id has problems with their sfx, I never liked the bullet splash in q3 either it was like in slo mo.

It looks like we're looking at a new trend in high-profile game teasers. Release a low res (or shakycam) video at E3, then some time later release the same vid in high res. First Valve did it for HL2, now D3.

*yawn* Yes I'm going to buy it and yes I'm tired of hearing about it. We get it, we got it, we all know about D3 now. At this point it's like advertising that the sun will come up 7 times next week. Wake me when it's released.

How about I throw you off a cliff, instead?

I don't know if this is the same trailer that you can download from the official site but I was really disappointed (1 s! ;)) with the weapon models.
When I play a 1st person shooter I want something meaty (not litterally!!! :)) when I'm holding a machine gun.

And somehow, it also felt restricted. Claustrophobic but not in a good tension-like way. But who know, maybe when you're actually playing the game you'll shit your pants because it's so scary. Who knows...

edit:
edited the word disappointed (was dissapointed)
thanks

I'm surprised but when I watch the trailer all I can think is... don't care about the game BUT I do care about the mods or games created using this engine. I'm personally very tired of the FPS as a stand alone game. BF1942 and Call of Duty are two of the most kick butt games around and I'm finding these strictly FPS games without teamplay or indepth story a little tiring, even if they are beautiful graphicly. Just one stupid canadians opinion...
