Silent Storm Add-on

Nival Interactive is pleased to announce an add-on to its highly appraised turned-based tactical game Silent Storm is the press release announcing an add-on that's in the works under the working title Silent Storm: Sentinels. Here's a bit:
"Silent Storm: Sentinels" employs and further improves the best advantages of the original game offering you the new edge of turn-based gameplay. The story of the add-on takes place in the first years after the war. "Thor's Hammer" revives from ashes and gets ready to pose a new threat to humanity, while veteran operatives join their efforts and establish a secret mercenary organization to counter "Hammer's" hidden agenda. These people call themselves "Sentinels"…

I loved X-Com. My favorite game of all time, and most played after Civilization. I loved the faceless soldiers, having them rise through the ranks, gain skills, and mourning the good ones while sacrificing the bad.

JA and JA2 are right up there as well, for changing the game and making me spend a lot more time quick saving to keep people alive. They weren't disposable. You liked them as much for who they were as how they fough. Fights were deep, tons of weapons... Put so much time into these as well.

We haven't had a good successor yet. I greatly dislike RT w/pausing, so Freedom Force interested me for about an hour (I didn't get my $9 out of it). The new UFO game just feels wrong. There hasn't been much else to choose from.

Silent Storm looks like my savior.

I had been playing Silent Storm for a few weeks (import from the UK) and bought KOTOR late last week. After a couple hours on KOTOR I went back to Silent Storm.

Awesome game. Very open as to how you do shite. Meet the objectives how you like. I like using stealth and headshots from a silenced pistol.

It kidna soudns liek the expansion pack is getting further from the good stuff in teh game (straight wwii combat) and going further into the weak part of the game (mech suits and sci-fi stuff). I'd rather see a prequel.

Thank you Space Captain.

Don't see how it makes me an ass, often games released first in Europe have minor changes before hitting the US. More recent versions, bugs being stamped out, etc.

I never once said "better version," or anything else to make me an ass. The different continents just often get slightly different versions, be it something hardcoded like wordings, or something downloadable in a patch.

Ok, now I see the US-centric views that pisses people off sometimes, much like the euro-centric VE3D sometimes annoys me.

The game has been out for a long time. I'd import it, but I'm assuming the US version will be slightly different if it's this delayed.

Actually just order it from GoGamer. For $49 you can have it overnighted. This is one of the most engrossing games I have ever played. Very addictive and has that wonderful..."just a a little while longer" games. before you know it you have played another 2 hours.

I hope my copy of Silent Storm comes in today. I bought it from the UK as well and it should be arriving any day now. Its the same price I would buy it for here in the US as well, plus I get it 2 months earlier. Anyone played the full version? Is it as great as the demo was?
