I'm willing to deal with FilePlanet's garbage for this one, as long as the download is fast, which it is not on the two public dedicated servers...

Oh, I automatically thought it meant paid account (that'd be typical of them). I retract my previous statement.

I just looked, and they had two (JUST THIS DEMO) public dedicated servers, as well as other any file publics servers.
I am DLing at 310K/sec from a Public Dedicated DXIEDemo server....I would say that is pretty good...I can not complain about that.
Looks like they have about 2000 public slots open at once, that is very decent in my opinion! I say yeay! To fileplanet on this one, I much prefer having limits on amount of people downloading from one server, instead of like some servers it just keeps adding more and more people, till everyone is only getting like 20k a sec…then the server crashes….bah!

Damn, I've now tried both public dedicated servers, and the Midwest server, and none of them are getting above 50 (almost like there's a limiter in place).

It looks like there are quite a few public servers to download it from on Fileplanet. I only waited about 30 seconds before mine started, and am getting as fast of speeds as I ever get anything. I don't see what the big problem is with FilePlanet. It's a business trying to survive, which means it needs to make money and offer benefits. If one of those benefits in exclusive downloads, big deal. I guess the people that don't like registering don't have to (and probably don't) use the service. Fine with me. It means I get files sooner and faster, and still free.

I used to have a d/l accelerator that you could use to connect to each of their servers maxing your pipe and bypassing their limiters.

Can't remember the name of it tho...

I downloaded it:)

I have to say first impressions of the graphics are not as good as I had hoped. The lighting is pretty sweet and some textures look good, but some look really bad too.

Having a hard time with it as well, probably just take a while to figure out what you can and can't do.

Performance wise it's not bad as long as you don't turn up the AA and AF. My initial settings where 2x and 4x on AA and AF and it was running at 2 fps. Without them it feels like its getting decent frame rates, no slow downs anyway.

I have a p4 2ghz with 768MB ram and a radeon 9700pro with the beta cat3.10.

I used flashget to download and I got an average of 322Kb/sec which took about 11 minutes for the whole thing.

People should not be complaining. You don't have to pay for this, I don't see any reason why anybody wouldn't want to DL it. I didn't have to wait in line at all, and it started out above 200, but now it's a steady 35k/sec.

So sad
Not only does this not look that great ( no big deal).
But it runs horrible.
I can not even get it to run good at 640x480 with everything turned off and down.
Here is to hoping they just broke something in the last driver release (NVIDIA).

And this is not even a DirectX9 game, just 8.1...so they should do fine it it....WHAAA!!!

Max Payne 2 demo ran perfectally, however, so I might luck out. Maby.... (does math in head) Probably not.

I got it as well and its not as good as I expected. The graphics are ho-hum even though the FPS is shit on my 4400Ti and 2200XP. I believe this game is coming out for the XBOX and its feels like thats what its originally programmed for.

Whats even more funny is that it asks if I want to install DX8.1!
