It has come to our attention that the media demo of T3 War has been placed on the Atari Australia web site for download by consumers. This is a mistake.
Please be aware that this build is NOT meant in any way to be a consumer "demo" and it will be removed from our site shortly. We will be releasing the real consumer demo in the near future, but the version that is online now will not be compatible with the official demo nor will it be compatible with the final game, both of which will have improved performance and online play.
Please do not direct your readers to this demo in Australia. If you have already posted the news, please remove it. If you feel you must mention this demo in a news item, it should be referred to as an early Beta Test for the game -- which it is -- this is NOT a "demo." It was meant for press eyes only and came with disclaimers as to what was not incorporated into the build at this time.
This demo's availability will only lead to confusion and compatibility issues, and you should wait for the official demo.
the thing i don't get is "you can't put the genie back in the bottle." uh, why would it be so hard to just pull the links if they're saying the demo isn't the one they wanted to be released? does INSISTING that everyone get the opp. to see this version of the demo somehow build the site's "street cred," or is it just a way to be obnoxious? i'm curious.
if we were talking about videos of war crimes or something, i might understand not caving to The Man's request. but it's a game demo they're saying isn't done. regardless of whether the final demo sucks, it just seems that not editing the original story to pull the links is an act of a napoleon-complexed webmaster rather than an "ethical" games journo.

Oh man, I thought you were gonna tell him to stick it up his ass or something. What a let-down.
thanks for your wisdom. put it in a can and sell it.
Dammit, we didn't realise you people wouldn't blindly accept the fact that our stupendously shitty game is the Holy Grail of gaming. In response to these complaints, and for fear of not selling any copies, we're just inventing this story that this is "early" code, when in fact we're close to Gold, hoping that you'll still be tricked into buying it.
