LucasArts announces that the PC version of Star
Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is gold, and will be in stores on November
18. Here's the story: "It is four thousand years before the Galactic Empire

STUPID GAME! THey should not continue to delve into all aspects of gaming. Star Wars Galaxies, knights of the republic, academy...
Make one game and focus on it with utter abaondon for 5 years. Everyone working on all other games working together to make one single game would be far better than dividing the groups for several games.
Finally, fuck pay per play. Fuck it in the ass. I don't care if it is so good that people cum when they play it. If you have to make it pay perplay or pay per month I want no part of your greed. Games cost enough as it is. I say we boycott those assholes and tell them that we will not play if it cost a $100 or more a year. It's stuPID!!!!!! beyond all belief.

Now the question is, which game should I buy, X2 or KOTOR?
The only possible answer is BOTH. Think of all the gaming goodness you'll have. Can play one til you need a change of pace and then go back to the other. Ahh... gaming nirvana...

I have to agree with that. I was very disappointed by NWN aswell, especially because it came from Bioware!
But so far what I have seen and heard of KotOR looks fantastic.

I have given up on waiting for BIS to come back to their senses and do a real ArmA 2 successor.

The game was originally announced as coming out for the PC and "next-gen console" which we later revealed to be the Xbox. LucasArts decided (and we agreed with them) to release the Xbox version first, then take the time to redo the interface for the PC.

The big thing was the complete redo of the control scheme to support the mouse and keyboard. Then throw in that you get up 1600x1200 rez support instead of the fixed Xbox rez. For that we also needed to upgrade a number of textures to look just right. Support for various video cards and their drivers. Audio card support. Then there is installers, config programs, launchers, autoruns, etc. that all needed to be build. Basically adding support for all things PC that you don't have on the Xbox.

Good of you to keep your sense of humour about this stuff, Derek. I have to agree with SMA though, NWN was a huge let down-IMO.
Given that I dig everything Bioware has done, that was pretty surprising. I guess I'm just a bit wary given that and SWG were such major disappointments. I've heard good things about KOTOR so far and will most likely check it out. Any idea if there's a demo in the works?

wow 4 gigs on 4cds that's pretty good. Then again I know nothing about compression and software stuff anyhow. Still sounds impressive.
Its 4 CDs, full install only, no DVD option planned. Heck, I don't have a DVD drive, neither at work, nor at home.

How many cds is the game on? Available in DVD format for the pc or we going to get like 4 cds. I would imagine it is alot with all the voice work. Well not 4 but more like 6 I would guess for cds. Good lord that's alot of cds.
