Digitalo Closes

HomeLAN Fed is reporting having received confirmation that Digitalo closed its doors on Monday of this week, leaving the last eight employees of the Florida-based developer looking for work. The cancellation of a couple of projects and disappointing sales of Devastation, their Unreal-engine shooter, are among the factors mentioned contributing to the company's demise. Word is that the Devastation forums remain open, but there will be no other future support or patches for the game.

Actually I thought the rat bomb was pretty clever. The bugs sucked though and I hate being BS'd. I see people coming into threads here at Blue's talking about game haters, but experiences like Devestation and Echelon make a gamer weary...game is released before it's ready, fixes are promised, fixes never delivered, gamer gets screwed.

No one can deny that game companies are taking advantage of gamers' broadband connections to patch premature releases, which in itself is pure bullshit. But when they dont deliver after they get your money, that's fraud.

That's why I am so excited when I see a game released in tip-top shape like Tron 2.0, a true work of art with PROFESSIONAL standards.
