Steam Update [Nov 06, 2003, 11:51 am ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
Steam News has
word of a new minor update to the content delivery system. According to the
accompanying post, the program will be patched on a weekly basis now, with the
scheduled updates to take place every Wednesday at 10:00 p.m. EST (7:00 p.m.
PST). Thanks Frans.
i'd say this is confirmation that steam is a program that valve will not give up on, and that they are committed to making it work.Too bad it's only to serve their own interests, and not those of their customers.
I can't think of a single app that doesn't get patched and updated to fix things. A big paranoid are we?
Yes. A program that has its source-code stollen and requires WEEKLY updates gives me "big" paranoia.
Especially if it wants to know my credit card info and home address.

I wouldn't mind if my GAMES needed weekly updates (heck, I play Everquest and Dark Age of Camelot). But this is like the INSTALLER needing weekly updates. And that's worrisome.
usually i'd worry if something doesnt get updated enough, but for some reason, steam's got me thinking that its a POS for having (or is it needing?) this weekly attention.
steam seems ok to me, what is this weekly update in aid of? coz its seriously flawed or is it to show valves dedication?
