are there any situations where average joe gamer needs hyper threading?
Well, I have a friend who is a staunch Intel fanboy and swears by Hyperthreading. He also has a SCSI drive array, and he claims he can play BF1942 and burn a DVD at the same time with little to no performance hit, and no DVD coasters. Of course I've never witness that first hand, so it could just be a fervent AMD hater trying to make me feel bad about my Athlon XP purchase.
Another thing I don't get, the P4EE is just a repackaged Xeon right? Then how can they get away with charging $925 for a P4EE when you can get a 3.2 Ghz Xeon for as low as $885. Is the extra 266 Mhz FSB really worth $40? I'll never understand Intel's pricing habits.
