I'm not getting sound issues at all on my Nforce 2 soundcard (home machine) or on my Audigy (work PC) so maybe its a driver issue or settings that you need to change locally on your PC ? I did have to upgrade both video and sound to play H&D2.
Another idea is to maybe hit the disable eax/turn it on to see if that fixes it (seems to enable it by default even if you don't have that feature)
An excellent game anyway - really enjoying it, much better than the first imo. Co-op out of the box would have been nice, but since there is little else out on the SP front at the mo' player action its not that much of a problem (yet)
