TMNT was the only role-playing game (paper and pen and dice) that I ever played. I still have the manual. Man was it cool, fun, dark, and just badass. I even liked the cartoon a lot even though it was completely different. Turtles rule.

I was going to sign the petition, but it had exactly 69 signatures, and I didn't want to be the one to ruin that.

Yes, this game needs co-op play like the arcade game. I had flashbacks when I played this demo.

The biggest annoyance is the Go beeps! That is too loud!!

this game is pretty cool but i think it needs coop multi over the internet and also a server that records the record scores so you can try to beat other peoples scores. Also it would be neat to have skill upgrades for things like attack and speed and defense. Also it would be good to be able to change the camera angles around.

Ya, all good points. Although there were attack, defense and speed upgrades in the boxes. Although they were only the temporary items that you pick up in these games nothing that you actually keep with you through the rest of the game.

Well I finally got to play it and beat it. It has the familiar beat'm up feel to it like the old arcade game only this time you're in 3d.

The purple dragon thugs come in groups at a time and you take your time slashing out combos (Only Leaonardo is playable in the demo) on them with some special moves. There is a combo meter that counts up your highest combos and awards you points at the end of a stage.

The content is completely based on the new Cartoon, not a bad thing, a bit more gritty than the old cartoons. Much more serious comic book-like look to the turtles. Some witty one-liners but not the over-the-top surfer lingo.

The Bosses as with most of these games was the most impressive. You get to play two of them and they are directly from the new cartoon show.

Overall a fun game... obviously done with console in mind but runs fine on PC, I didn't see any glitches at 1024x768 32. Should be cool when the full game comes out... hopefully the rest of the storyline, the rest of the bosses, and the other turtles will raise the fun factor even more.

Cowabunga! (had to)

Nice! I actually just recently started buying up TMNT comic auctions on eBay and have almost the entire Mirage Studios' Volume 1! Only have a couple of the last more obscure ones to get...

I also got my entire collection of toys from my parents and am going to be selling them off on eBay.

WTF? TMNT is big news man, its TURTLE TIME!

That comic kicked some SERIOUS ass... ANyone remember the "escape from new york" series with Raphael? And the time travelling chick with the tits?

I also have a few issues of Adolescent Radioactive Black Belt Hamsters around here... still in ok condition, from about '84

The original comic was called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

http://www.ninjaturtles.com/comics/mirage/volume01/01/01.htm

Perhaps the "Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles" is a UK name change.

Well its the cheesy cartoon style pizza power theme, unfortunately. The game looks good though, running very smoothly on my rig (athlon 2100 + radeon 8500). Lots of moves and combos but the accompanying voice samples get annoying fast. It is an old school beat-em up with 3 attack buttons, a jump button, and a dash button. The dash button is very cool and very fast...the bosses pretty much force you to use it, so it makes the game a lot more fast-paced than other games like this.

My brother got a tattoo of Michelangelo many, many years ago. He was an avid fan of the old comics. About a year after the tattoo, the TMNT cartoon came out.

He had little kids from all over pointing to his tattoo and saying, "cooooooool, you got a tattoo of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle!". He was extremely pissed.

...know that the original TMNT's were hardcore killers, not goofy kids characters going around blowing up robots...

Thats not to say I didnt like the show but damn, its amazing how much better something is with violence, especialyl when the word NINJA is involved.

The friggin' NES version of TMNT was hard as hell... That game really pissed me off. It was cool though. I dug the konami arcade game as well... Anyway, I am going to check out this demo for the hell of it. The cartoon did have one of the best theme songs. For fun, I dug up the lyrics...

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Heroes in a half-shell
Turtle power!

They're the world's most fearsome fighting team (We're really hip!)
They're heroes in a half-shell and they're green (Hey - get a grip!)
When the evil Shredder attacks
These Turtle boys don't cut him no slack!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Splinter taught them to be ninja teens (He's a radical rat!)
Leonardo leads, Donatello does machines (That's a fact, Jack!)
Raphael is cool but crude (Gimme a break!)
Michaelangelo is a party dude (Party!)

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Heroes in a half shell
Turtle power!
