"...and an Unreal window sticker"

why do they even include crap like this?? do they really think a sticker would motivate us to buy the box set???

No, I think the other content is supposed to do that... touches like this are to add to the perceived quantity of additional stuff, rather than quality.

On a semi-related note, I used to take the same amusement at the contests we used to run on MTV when I worked there, as they attempted to include all the sponsors in the promotion:

Win an entire town (or something similar, like the chance to tour the world with a famous band), plus... Skittles!

Well it was all under the same company, MTV Networks... yeah, I worked part time at MTV for about four years and then full time at VH-1 for another four.

Good times -- some amazing parties, though it did take several years after leaving to get to the point where I could pay for a CD (and now everything has come full circle and I'm one of about six people in the world who still pay for music).

A friend of mine closed his mom and pop record store in 2001, and he's the same way. I got more than a couple of good promos off him.

The irony is now I order everything online and HE pays ME back...

TEN DOLLAR REBATE? How about you give it to me for FREE? Since we were SUPPOSED to get vehicles WITH UT2003! Seriously, I was expecting a bigger rebate, since they're going to do this yearly too...

Whatever happened to 2003 being all SUPERCOOL with vehicles and stuff, 2004 being a FREE UPGRADE, then 2005 being a full price release? No, let's instead release 2003 unfinished and charge them again for the game in 2004?

You know, this is the reason the UT community has been shrinking. There's fewer and fewer servers to play on every day and good luck finding something other than lowgrav instagib.

I've gone from buying SIX copies of UT for my friends because I loved it so much to pondering not even buying UT2004 for myself. In fact, I may just go back to UT and run my own server. At least I'd be getting value for my money.

Gee, wow, $10 dollars off, I'm so gonna buy this now... kidding of course. Maybe we should be getting the [happy] game for 1/2 price instead, since we only got 1/2 a game with UT2k3. I can't support this company or the UT brand anymore, they are just ripping off comsumers and fans with half ass releases then try to cash in more one year later. Jerks.

As if they had not already split/killed off the UT community enough.

WOOHOO, you spent $30 - $50 for it the first time around, now you get to spend ANOTHER $40 - $60 and get a WHOLE $10 credit for having BETA TESTED the previous release.

No thanks Epic/Atari.
Hope you guys got your resumes up to date...

And another thing, why do customers have to pay an ADDITIONAL $20 for a training modules (don't get me started on a little $0.05 sticker)? Fans who make MODS for your games are doing YOU (Epic) more of a favor then you are for they. The friggin training Modules should be FREE for MOD Developers you idiots. God, Epic just lost a customer for life.

so, you're all bitching about probably paying $20 (in the end) for 2k4?

look, it's a big-name game. EB will probably have a $10 rebate on it themselves, bringing it down to $30. then the $10 rebate for 2k3. that's $20.

and if EB decides to charge $50 for it, then give the $10 rebate, just wait a week, and Best Buy will have it for $40, then go to EB and price match, and you're back down to $20.

do you people actually pay $40-$50 for a game??
