Lots of good posts today. Not a single troll or slam. Who are you people and what have you done to Blue's forums?
In any case, one thing that no one has mentioned about Star Wars (Ep. IV) is the sense of wonder and complete awe it inspired. This was something unlike any of us had ever seen before. It blew my 12 year old brain. It's a sci-fi/fantasy film (SW is really more fantasy than sci-fi, but I digress) that takes itself seriously and didn't (at the time) come off as "stupid". Star Wars is my single greatest movie-going experience of all time, it transported me to another time and place. I suspect that many of us writing here today can relate, and its this memory that is at least partially responsible for our disappointment in the new films. We are just too old.
That being said, if I found a geni in a bottle and he gave me one wish and I could have any one thing, I would want a light-saber. You know, for my kids.
