Steam News announces the availability of a new Steam update that addresses a bunch of bugs in the content delivery system (thanks Frans). There is an accompanying update that outlines future updates that include a new version of Counter-Strike, a new version of Day of Defeat, and a new friends and server browser.

Just curious, but why will it be "necessary for two weeks" to be online while playing SP? What needs to be done/checked/transfered in that two week period?

Either way it doesn't bother me. If I need to be online while playing single-player, so be it. I have nothing to hide.....at least I think I don't. *dun-dun-dun*
