Shacknews has finally
received official word that Half-Life 2 will not be making its planned release
date of September 30, something a quick glance at the calendar can confirm.
Here's the quote from Valve's Doug Lombardi:
The previously announced September 30th release date for Half-Life 2 is being pushed back. We are currently targeting a holiday release, but do not have a specific "in-store" date to share at this time. We will release that information as soon as we have confirmed a new date.
I have decided to take measures to an extreme.
I absolutely will not play Half-Life2 or any of its mods until it is released.
I am following Dantastic's hunger strike lead on this, but since I rarely eat while playing video games anyway, I am upping the ante on his feeble attempt at coercing Valve to release their game regardless of how it will play on my Trident 1mb card.
Also, it's been a while since I've gone on a murderous rampage due to the effects a really good video game can have on my psyche. I'm hoping HL2 will once again help me to break that barrier since GTA III just doesn't quite push me to the edge anymore.
