Shacknews has finally
received official word that Half-Life 2 will not be making its planned release
date of September 30, something a quick glance at the calendar can confirm.
Here's the quote from Valve's Doug Lombardi:
The previously announced September 30th release date for Half-Life 2 is being pushed back. We are currently targeting a holiday release, but do not have a specific "in-store" date to share at this time. We will release that information as soon as we have confirmed a new date.
I supposed Valve just had to drop another bombshell in the wake of all the recent DOOM3 press. When all this is over somebody has to make a documentary about how one puppet was controlled by two puppet masters.I dont see why everyone thinks Valve and id are so bothered about how good each others games are. Its not an either/or choice: most of us will buy both, and those that dont out of some sort of grudge are so stupid they'd probably be incapable of turning on their computer anyway.
Anyone that's seen any info on either game can see that the games are so different in every way other than the fact they are both fps, so if either game is great or awful, it'll be so in its own right rather than because of the respective quality of the other game.
