The number menu system was a little cumbersome on the PC version.

A little? Having played Raven Shield and SWAT 3, I can safely say OPF's menu system is utter crap, relatively speaking. The one good thing that should come out of this whole situation is a simplified, responsive, and intuitive control system.

I most certainly enjoyed most of all the other aspects though. Resistance even had an engaging storyline and strong characterizations (For a game that is.)

This is the official website. The forum link is very useful because there's an addons forum, etc.

Nassus whats a good site to d/l missions and addons from?

I have the original OpFl, so I imagine most of the newer missions were written with the add-on in mind.

I'm curious as to what OpFl2 will looklike, although considering how reasonably good the original looked when it was released, I do expect the sequel to look on the level of Stalker. Wonder when we'll have some screenshots?

I'm not really worried about Opflash2 yet at this point. There are so many cool addons and mods out already for this game, and with scripting, the missions type posibilities are endless.

I've been playing MP ever since the US version came out and nothing else I've tried can replace its realism. BF1942 was ok, but once you've played on such huge islands as there are in opflash, those BF1942 islands are pretty tiny.

Even with all of the great features the first one has, there are plenty of improvements I'm hoping for in OFP2. Too bad M$is the reason for the delay.

So everyone who bought the original is getting smacked around because they want to go and develop for a second rate gaming platform even though the franchise got its start on the PC. Sounds familiar. Oh, and it pisses me off.

Oh well, on to Half-life 2. Apparently, some companies still know where their roots are.

The one simple thing keeping me from becoming a complete OFP fanbois is the fact that you can't join an MP game in progress. Apparently they have to rebuild the entire game from the ground up to get that feature in. I guess if they tried new MP code your pc would melt or something.

"DUde, RL friend just got on, gonna restart for him!", "Dude, this is the 20th restart, I haven't killed anything in 1.5 hours!" /sigh

's funny really. If you read the original autopsy on OpFlash and all the reasons why it was late the first time around it kinda makes you wonder if something similar has happended this time regardless of their public statement

not that I really care as I've still got the Resistance mission pack to play through in addition to a good 6 months of cool releases ahead of me

next!

I think it's fine to announce a game early, but it's a mistake to release much information about it. For the first 18-24 months, forum fanboys can pass the time discussing what they would like to see and speculating on things. But if companies do a few interviews early on and then go silent for 12 months, people jump on their backs asking why they aren't disclosing every single gameplay feature in complex, nit-picking detail.

"why post news about something that wont be out til 2005?"

I agree. But some moron somewhere is gonna hunker down inforum and and wait till 2005 for this game. LOL Sorta sounds alot like the dudes at halo.bungie.org waiting for Halo Mac version. ;p Pubs and Devs really gotta stop announcing games so far away. It blows. Don`t announce till closer to release.
