Out of the Blue

Well, I'm back at the BlueTower for a short stay, as after getting in late after my grandmother Mimi's funeral I'll be heading out at dawn to attend the burial (I haven't heard why the two events were not on the same day, but it's fairly unusual from my experience, so I assume there's probably a good reason for this). Anyway, the services was simple but sincere, and I take some comfort in my belief that it proceeded much the way she would have wanted it to.

I don't expect to get in as late today as I did last night, and any patience you can muster for the delayed updates is sincerely appreciated.

If this affects me in any further profound way Blue (sleepness nights, loss of job, sexual performance etc) you'll be hearing from my lawyers.

Anti-gravity propulsion? Haha. This "Nick Easen" from CNN should do a little more digging... While I can believe that a company like Boeing might have thrown a few dollars in the pot to investigate the issue, I'm extremely skeptical that "mysterious U.S. military craft using this kind of technology have been skirting the skies since the 1980s."

Anti-gravity would take an incredible amount of energy to work, if it could be done at all. Otherwise you could violate the law of conservation of energy by just turning on your anti-gravity shield and then "giving" a massive object a ton of potential energy for free as you lift it off the ground effortlessly.

I worked at Lockheed Skunkworks (as a vendor) during the time the F117 stealth fighter was being built there, but was still being totally denied to exist for two years after that. (of course now I can talk about it) There is WAY MORE going on than one can imagine (even then, lord knows whats going on now)and I think it was said best in the movie Independance day: "You dont think they really spend $250.00 on a hammer do ya"

Oh, and Blue. We all understand, For goodness sakes you have a life too.

Ya, apparently Nick Easen doesn't have an editor either.

Nowadays, phased-array antennae allow you to park your new car in small parking spaces with audio queues.

Audio queues? Try cues, Nick.

Laugh if you will, but I have seen testings of US anti-grav aircraft. It wasnt glamorous, but it was real.

Is anybody here

A) Kind of excited
B) Very excited
C) Hot Damn I am Excited
D) I just covered myself in nutella I'm so excited

about the upcoming movie Underworld as I am?
http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/underworld/

I mean, it just looks cool. Geeks like me like Vampires, I like Vampire the Masquerade, and the thought of a dark goth, we kick ass like we're the Xmen, Vampire movie in which Vampires battle Werewolves just filled me with much glee, joy and happiness when I saw the trailer.

Ofcourse, when I saw the trailer, and dutifully noted September 19th as a day on which I would NOT go do anything else that evening besides see aforementioned movie, I also thought to myself "It sure looks a lot like World of Darkness. I wonder if White Wolf is involved."

As it turns out, White Wolf is not, and now they're suing Sony.
Now, suing Sony is not something that comes as a surprise to anyone, as I believe Sony generally spends at least several hours of its day in court. In this case, however, I wish White Wolf would just let it slide. I mean, come on, even if it's stolen, it's only going to bring publicity to your product. I realise copyright is a big thing right now, with even Senators feeling they have a right to it, but if this lawsuit blocks this movie from ever coming out, I somehow have this nasty feeling that White Wolf is seriously going to bite themselves in the ass when they watch their product sales suddenly take a big fucking dip.

One of the few movies this year that had me genuinely interested, and now it might not go through. Bah.

(For those interested in the complaint, I'll link to PA's copy of it. I'm sure it'll be a nice change for PA to have THEIR server tubed for once.)
