I don't know if I agree. More likely the media makes it easier for us to realize the full implications of a world of sin.
If you go back into history, war atrocities are still there. The crusade Christains, poisoned their minds so that they ended up torturing people. The romans crucified people & we would never do that today (it's just too inhumane). The very first sin mentioned in the Bible after eating the apple & denying it is flat out murder.
People have always been terrible to each other. Look at the Aztecs. They held so many human sacrifices that their pyramids glistened with blood. The Egyptians used to put those terrible scarab beetles inside people's brains so that they wouldn't go to Ra.
No, people have always been murderous. It isn't getting any worse. There's just more news available about how bad it's always been.
I like to thihnk I have an open mind. I hope you do too. There is a possibility God does exist. You can try to find out more or take your chances on not having life forever. Personally, I don't believe in eternal hell, but I wouldn't want to believe in God as a form of fire insurance anyway. One good reason I want to believe in God because I would rather not disappear. I mean, what sounds more bizaare, that a God created us or that we started as an explosion from nothing that became a bunch of gas that solidified & became earth, sky, and ocean, that spontaneously manufactured protein, that made a fish, that walked out of the ocean, became an ape, and is now us?
