Chrome Gold

Techland has announced that Chrome, their upcoming shooter, has gone gold (thanks Frans). Here's the extent of the announcement, which does not provide hints as to when the game is expected:
Techland, Polish game developer and publisher, announced today that the worldwide version of Chrome goes gold. Chrome is a tactical FPP shooter taking place in distant future. Colonization of a newly discovered planetary system is the background for the game. Chrome offers photorealistic graphics depicting vast, forested terrain and unique playability based on the implant system, vehicles, and freedom of the player during the missions. To find out more about Chrome, please visit www.chromethegame.com or the Techland exhibitions at GC Games Convention in Leipzig/Germany between 21 and 24 of August 2003 or at the upcoming ECTS in London.
Update: Strategy First sends word that this announcement does not apply to the North American edition of the game (story).

Reading #15's post sparks a lot of sadness and anger in me. Speaking as a former employee of the above mentioned publisher, I can assure you that publishing quality software that actually gives value to the customer (you guys) is the farthest thing from the president's mind. He'd put "shit in a game box as long as it would sell" (actual quote). And given the fact that the publisher just laid off half its work force (including the whole QA department!!!), well, I guess I can just leave you with the following words of advice. Stick with Half-life 2! lol
