rock climber, spout all the "personal interpretation" stuff that you want, and of course that is a part of the process, but there are absolutes in art. There is objectivity, and without absolutes art would be meaningless. Art has form and technique, and there can be right and wrong.
And don't miss the point. To make another example, you may not enjoy The Beatles. Their work may not interest you at all. But to say that they were a shitty band or to deny their tremendous impact on popular music would be incorrect.
It's not about the majority. The evidence of greatness exists in the work itself, in the artistry displayed by the creator. Personal enjoyment is very subjective, but structure, technique, design, composition, all of these things are far more objective.
Bottom line, any game or piece of art or whatever exists on its own. If you don't appreciate it that doesn't make it go away, and if you perceive things in it that aren't there that doesn't make them there either.
