Wings of Honour Demo

A new Wings of Honour demo is now available, offering a sampling of CITY Interactive's World War I flying combat game. The demo features a pair of tutorial missions using Snoopy's plane of choice, the legendary Sopwith Camel. The demo is a 292 MB download, available on 3D Gamers. Update: The demo was posted as the result of a "miscommunication," and has been pulled. The official demo is expected in a few weeks.

hopefully it was pulled because they were improving this crap.. having the rudder keys in between the arrow keys and the left ctrl that you use for shoot is really inconvenient.. also the plane model looks very nice and the cities are decent but the terrain and the trees need some work and also i'd like a further view distance... also on the map it would be nice if it would show your plane facing the right way.. one last thing, i know it's a WW1 game but the game makes me feel like i can walk faster than the plane is flying.. if all these were fixed i would like to play the game more.. until then bring me secret weapons over normandy!

And all this time I thought people did it just to brag. Silly me.

Wow, you are pretty easily impressed if you think I post my system specs to brag...don't get me wrong, its a nice value rig, but its by no means top of the line in or brag-worthy...

And Soupkin, you are making me cry. Of all the folks on these boards, your opinion matters the most to me, more than my own even.

Why do people put their system information for a Signature? Is it just me or is that the silliest thing ever? I suppose I should put the dimensions of my house and all the mods to my Supra in mine. LOOK AT ME!! Did I mention I have two gigs of PC 3200 and a Geforce4 5900? My power supply is 500 Watt and I have two hard drives too. I even got a floppy drive so there!

I've thought the same thing. Ironically enough, you would think people would do this to show off, claiming the latest and greatest hardware specs, but strangely most- if not all- system spec sigs I see list embarrassingly old hardware, or at the very least, what would currently be considered "low end". Not to say I have a machine worthy of bragging about, but it's hardware having been state of the art 12-18 months ago, is usually significantly newer than what most people list in their sigs...

"WW1 dogfights are close-combat, machine gun only battles and when done right, are terrific to play."

That's probably why BF1942 is so popular.

To be honest, I wasn't all that interested in antique flying machines back then, and I'm even less interested in them now. When oh when will Lock On be released?!

Sounds like it's time for a visit to the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in upstate New York. I've been there twice, and hoping to go again next month. www.oldrhinebeck.org

"Bring on the Lock On goodness, amen brother"

Are you nuts--have you seen what Ubi has done with Rainbow Six 3? Have you seen how they have messed it up and shown no respect for their customers? I was waiting for Lomac-but after RB Six--they aren't getting my money.

In my mind, there's a very good reason for developing WW1 and WW2 flight sims (read: pre-jets). The combat is far, far more pure. The weapons in LOMAC and other modern survey sims are "fire and forget" weapons - multiplayer games become standoffs from 50 miles, if anyone actually ever plays in those modes.

WW1 dogfights are close-combat, machine gun only battles and when done right, are terrific to play.

If I said this game ran great on my machine people can see what I am running it on. Unfortunatly I don't like arcade sims so I haven't tried it!

I agree it looks kinda strange in most posts where people are just replying to stuff so maybe they should add the ability to pick which sig you want to use, A system spec one or a general one.

Bring on Falcon 5.0!!!!! I love Study Sims!

I spent a bunch of time downloading this and it really isn't worth the download, I love flight sims and arcade flight games but you can't go into the options and set up anything so keyboard controlls only. It's not that pretty. It crashes with an abnormal program term error when you hit escape sometimes in the game. I deleted it. (and the install isn't very friendly) nuf said

Not worth the 292mb. Big 'arcade' feel to it, which is fine if done properly. Small Rockets' Red Ace Squadron blows this one away for fun factor. WoH is prettier but rather boring.

You know selling dlc before you patch the client doesn't impress upon me the need to support your shit. -massdev
