Funcom sends news that the release of Anarchy Online: Shadowlands, the expanded
version of their MMORPG, is going to be delayed for a couple of weeks. Here's
the deal:
Oslo, Norway, August 13th, 2003 - Funcom announced today that the release date of Anarchy Online: Shadowlands has been pushed back from August 26th to September 9th.
"With Shadowlands, we are literally adding a whole new dimension to our game," explained Funcom CEO, Trond Aas. "The scope of the project is huge, and we have found that we need a couple of more weeks of testing and balancing before launching the expansion."
While fans will have to wait another two weeks for the expansion, Trond Aas is certain it will be worth the wait. "I'm convinced everyone will see the sense in our decision. The extra wait will be long forgotten once they start exploring the marvelous world of Shadowlands."

I'll consider playing SWG when they finish it. Until then, I'll definitely stick with AO...which, from what I've been told by numerous people, is still the better game.
I've played Everquest, Ultima Online, Dark age of camelot, planetside, asheron's call 2, earth and beyond, and anarchy online. Of those, I believe Anarchy Online to be the best because it provides a very rich role playing experience that's not your typical "orcs and ogres" atmosphere. You feel like you're really part of a history in the game. Even the little things help the experience greatly. For example, every item or weapon in Anarchy includes a brief description of the weapon, including how it fires and the origin of the design. The information is totally bogus and irrelevant to the game, but it just makes for a better game.
I was going to ask that myself.
Not that it matters. AO sucks ass, and SWG was only good til they broke it today.

I tried it in the first few days, then again a few months later. UNplayable the first time around, and nearly unplayable the second. It wouldn't matter if the game was the best thing since PopTarts at this point.
These days, I don't even give games a second chance. However, I will admit that AO is better than Shadowbane, much in the same way that Attack of the Clones was better than the Phantom Menace.

Anarchy Online is actually a pretty good by MMORPG standards now.
If you're actually interested in roleplaying and an ongoing storyline, anarchy online is better than most MMO games. If you're referring to MMO games in general, then no, this won't make it more fun for you.
Is this the expansion that makes it fun?
I guess this lets their hype machine crank on for another couple of weeks to support my favorite sites. That's fine for me
