English XIII Demo [Aug 07, 2003, 1:11 pm ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
The English-language single player demo for XIII is now available, offering a
sample of Ubi Soft's upcoming cel-shaded Unreal-engine shooter, a bit earlier
than the "middle of August" that was recently predicted (story).
The demo offers two levels for an 80 MB download, which is available from 3D Gamers,
FileFront,
FileShack (registration required), GameCenter,
Gamer's Hell, and Loadedinc (registration required).

some of these mirrors are unavailable while this is being sorted out.

I will be done d/ling it in about 2 min, not from bit torrent. Is it possible to still add my bandwith to bittorrent without d/ling it from it? I do not blieve it is possible, that one has to d/l it with bit torrent? (to verify the intregity) am I correct?

well, a few windows to wade through, but i seemed to catch it right as it hit. when it told me "servers at capacity", i waited a bit and hit f5, suddenly my d/l was "ready"

yep, to jump on the bit torrent (you're the man) just click that torrent link below. When it asks where to save it, just put it at the existing xiii zip file that you have. It should then start serving.

Heh. This is exactly why I PAY for Fileplanet. Say what you want but while others are complaining about their 3k/sec download rate and full servers, I have already downloaded and played it for a bit. Sure I could have waited for the net congestion to die down and gotten it for free eventually but I can afford it so why not pay for the speed? I also didn't have to jump around looking for the fastest server to download it from.
Comments on the game to follow once I get into it a bit more.

well, not sure what the 3k is about, according to the stats on the this current torrent, most people are averaging over 100... as for fileplanet, they were the dead LAST to get this. I've got a pay account with them and every single other site had it before they did. money wasted...
I got to the point where I escape from the first aid center at the very beginning, and then the game crashed on me. Hooray. I'll try it again later, but if crashes on me again, it's gone.
On a good note though, I do like the graphics quite a bit. It also runs very well on my not-so-great computer.

Nighthawk...no one cares about that. I've downloaded the demo from Gamer's Hell at 500k/sec at least one hour before it appeared on fileplanet, and i haven't paid anything for that. Go elsewhere if you wanna advertise fileplanet...
PS: 3DGamers doesn't seem to have the demo and the one on ubi soft ftp is indeed password protected, so u'd better get it from Gamer's Hell for now (haven't checked the others).

nah i don't want to pay, i have other monthly bills that need paying before i start paying for subscriptions to download free files... the fileshack link is finally working and i dont mind waiting a bit for my download to start... they say that im limited to 100k/sec but that doesnt bother me since my dsl line only does 70

When I start up the demo, there's just the gray screen with some huge red pixelated lettering that says "out of range". Any idea what's up?
