BioWare & Obsidian

BioWare Forms New Development Relationship Exploring Projects With Feargus Urquhart's Obsidian Entertainment is the press release announcing a new collaborative relationship between BioWare and Obsidian, which turns out to be where former Black Isle Studios president Feargus Urquhart has landed (as CEO). The deal is for both PC and console games, with the quote provided from Urquhart indicating that they will be taking on one or more established properties: "A collaboration with BioWare gives Obsidian the opportunity to explore development projects on established game franchises with proven technology and brand loyalty from the fan community. This is an excellent opportunity for a new studio looking to make an immediate impact in the market."

After playing Red Faction and hearing about Red Faction 2, I'd prefer that Interplay sold the Freespace right to someone who will make use of it.

But did you PLAY FreeSpace 2? I agree, the Faction series seems like a console cash-in, and Summoner didn't interest me at all. But FS? They hit the mark with that one...go find it in the bargain bin if you don't have it, preferably the "Sim of the Year" edition. I promise, the first time a cap ship fires one of it's death star type beams your way, you'll be impressed. You'll also want to get the hell out of the way!

Bioware stated a long time ago that if there was a BG3, it's story wouldn't be connected to the previous two. But then again, Bioware wasn't working on BG3...
