Far Cry: E3 to Alpha on
PC.IGN.Com offers thoughts from Crytek's Christopher Natsuume on the E3
reception Far Cry met with (even as the show fades in the rear-view mirror),
going on to describe the push that's been made since then to get the upcoming
first-person shooter into the alpha (playable) stage. He's only allowed to go so
much into specifics about the game, but he can offer general indications about
the complexities involved in the project: "But, as the both the vehicles
and the AI are systematic, even small changes to them make changes across all
the levels - so this has been a lot of work for the team. With the vehicles,
since they are modelled on real physics, changing the weight of anything - from
the players to the boxes they hit to the weight of the mercenaries makes a real
difference. It is the cost of reality."
