Out of the Blue

Yesterday I got a wild hair to have less wild hair, and cut most of it off (I now resemble the logo more than ever). Later in the day we picked up some supplies for an impromptu cookout and because there was beer in our cart, the young lady at the checkout asked for my driver license! Now I'm not going to kid myself that I suddenly look underage as much as she was just clueless. On the other hand, I don't think I will ever shop anywhere else... and she sure looked mystified when I tipped her.

I believe it was Mars, it might have been the moon, but I once heard that it was so mineral dense that something like 1 cubic ton of it would be equal to about 1000 cubic tons on the same minerals on earth. I don't recall the numbers exactly, but thats why they want to get into space so bad.

Anyway you slice it, if the enviornmentalists are right and the earth keeps getting trashed and overpopulated at its current rate we only have 2 or so centuries left before there are major collapses in the ecosystems which means bye-bye humanity in a protracted and painful manner.
Terraforming is really the only way to go.
