Halo About Halo, Period
on PC.IGN.Com wraps up their week-long coverage of the upcoming PC
version of Halo with a Q&A with Gearbox' Randy Pitchford, learning more
about why they are foregoing co-op support, the 16 player multiplayer limit,
whether mouse support will reduce the challenge presented by console
controls, and more. Thanks Frans.
Exarch HomeLAN Fed's
Exarch Q&A talks with David Adams of Realm Interactive about Exarch,
their upcoming MMORPG, confusingly referring to this as the replacement for
the now-cancelled Trade Wars project, when previous indications were that
Exarch was simply the new name for Trade Wars (story).
Dark and Light HomeLAN Fed's
Dark and Light Q&A talks with NP Cube's Laurent Paret and Stephane
Quilichini about Dark and Light, their upcoming MMORPG, trying to

unusual company origin stories you will ever encounter.
Dark Fall The Dark Fall

offering a quick overview of their supernatural-themed graphic adventure
Tomb Raider GameSpy.com's

interview with some of the folks behind the new Tomb Raider movie, including

It's not the weakest PC port ever, not unless you count the fact that it originally was intended for PCs, then it's a mediocre port. If it has total mouse support, doesn't require the use of keyboards in menus, and is optimized for PC performance, I'll be content. To buy it at $30. :p
Heyblo PC = Bargin Bin, and that's only if by some chance it hits the bins right at a time that no other games are coming out. Waiting 2 years, and then not even getting all the features the original game had? (co-op) No thanks, Randy. Every time I see the numerals 007, I get sick thinking about gearbox anyway.

I grow more disappointed with Halo PC with each Q&A. Having waited so long for this, I finally broke down and tried Halo on the Xbox. What a disappointment that was. Abysmal level design coupled with boring scripted events.
Oh well, there are enough PC games this year to keep me busy.
-IGNPC: Is the standard multiplayer limit still 16? Could you elaborate on this a bit?
-Randy Pitchford: All of the new multiplayer maps were designed for 16 or fewer players. The game play is best with that number for most of the maps and we really like being able to promise a reasonably consistent quality of experience for all kinds of connection types from 56k modems to commercial broadband.
How about making bigger maps for larger numbers of players? Not fucking brain surgery is it. And “consistent quality of experience” for 56k players is the biggest piece of bullshit excuse I’ve ever heard.
-IGNPC: What's up with cooperative multiplayer over LAN or Internet?
-Randy Pitchford It turned out to be a really, insanely difficult problem to do this over a network
Stop talking out of your arse and just admit you couldn’t be bothered. Wait till some clever modder gets over this “insanely difficult problem” in a mater of months. This has to be the wankest console to PC conversion yet.
